ADL Sponsor’s Inaugrual 5K Walk Against Hate

This Sunday the Anti-Defamation League, is sponsors The Walk Against Hate.
Set to take place at a more than “symbolic” starting point , on Martin Luther King Drive adjacent to the Philadelphia Art Musem, Spokesperson for the ADL Barry Morrison pointed out saying ”
What better place than Philadelphia…to have such an event? Morrison offered. “Its the City of Brotherly Love.”
The walk, is the Anti Defamation League’s way of asserting its way back in to the community dialogue of inclusion and inclusivity in the South Eastern
Pennsylvania Region, Morrison told BuxMontNews.com in an exclusive interview.
The ADL has been active in the region for a number of years, and thought it was time to celebrate Philadelphia’s “Diversity” of community organizations and individuals that comprise it. The ADL with the support of a number of other community based organizations decided an annual event reflecting the “Principles, ideals and values” of those that laid the groundwork for our everyday freedoms is needed, the ADL Spokesperson, shared.
Morrison, went on to say, “it’s not a response or a rally” but a celebration of the entire cultural experience of the region.
“Founded in 1913, The Anti-Defamation League has evolved into an international organization dedicated to standing up for the rights of all groups. ADL is
hosting its first annual WALK Against Hate on Sunday, May 15, 2011 to promote diversity.”
“The Public’s response has been strong with registrations climbing to in to the thousands and beyond according the latest published reports.

Walk activities kick off at 1:45 pm and a Diversity Expo beginning at 2 pm.
The Walk itself starts at 3pm and is scheduled to end at 5pm Rain or Shine!
Its $10.00 to register for adults$ 5.00 for children and students.
There are T-shirts included for the next 150 online registrations.
There will be balloon sculptures among the activities for kids, a hip-hop performance, and other live music.

Morrison said “We pray for good weather” for Sunday and an inclusive turnout.
