After checking the candy aisle a man lunged over the counter and stole nearly $100 from a 7-11 in Feasterville, late Sunday evening, police said.

It was raining when a crook picked-up lollipops and brought them to the counter of the convenience store located in the 1900 block of Brownsville Road in Trevose section of Lower Southampton. The crook next handed the clerk and dollar bill and when the clerk opened the register the criminal lunged onto the counter and swiped the cash, according to Lower Southampton police.

The suspect in the robbery then quickly fled for the exit and headed on foot out the back and police believe, after viewing surveillance footage, escaped in a light colored pick-up truck.

The pick-up truck that police think the suspect fled in is believed to have headed east on Bristol Road.

Police from Lower Southampton and Bensalem searched the area for the suspect, who was described as being a white male about 6 feet tall, wearing a blue hoodie with white writing on the front, black baseball cap, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Authorities do not believe this robbery is related to last weekend’s set of knife point robberies, said Lower Southampton police Lieutenant John Krimmel Jr.
