FBI: Huntingdon Valley Man Sentenced; Tried to Steal Almost $1 Million Dollars

Huntingdon Valley resident Neil Hollander, 55, was sentenced Feb. 17 to one year and one day in prison for health care fraud, mail fraud and making false statements in a health care matter, United States Attorney Zane David Memeger said in a press release.

Hollander, who maintained Hollander Chiropractic Center in Philadelphia, billed Independence Blue Cross nearly $1 million for chiropractic treatments that he had not actually rendered to the insured patients, the released stated, adding that the insurance company paid approximately $300,000.

In 2005, when Independence Blue Cross requested patient files from Hollander, Hollander created false documents to submit.

He pleaded guilty to the charges in June of 2010.

In addition to the prison term, United States District Court Judge Petrese Tucker order Hollander to pay restitution in the amount of $304,096 and to serve three years supervised release upon completion of the prison term.

He was order to begin serving his sentence on April.
