Senator Bob Casey announced that the Warminster Fire Department along with four others in the region will be receiving grants from the federal government, the grants awarded totaled more than $436,242.

The Warminster Fire Department will be receiving $139,500, the largest amount of grant money out of the five departments.

“This money will help provide the firefighters of Southeastern Pennsylvania with the gear, training and equipment they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve,” said Casey in a release.

The money is awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG). The AFG works to strengthen America’s first responders’ ability to protect the public and themselves.

The grant was announced by Senator Casey and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Department of Homeland Security.
