Deadly Car Accident in Northampton (Updated)

Police in Northampton are looking into the cause of a fatal accident that occurred last night, at Almshouse Road and West Pickering Bend in the Richboro section of the township.

Thomas Crompton, 53, of Holland, was the lone fatality of the accident, said Northampton police.

The wreck involved a Chevrolet Avalanche, which is a large SUV/pick-up hybrid, and a Pontiac Grand Am, a compact car.

Crews from the Northampton Fire Department and Tri-Hampton Rescue Squad responded to the accident, that occurred around 6:40 p.m., which happen two block away from the fire station.

Almshouse Road was closed for about three hours last night as an investigation into the accident took place.
