File - (Tom Sofield)

A man with a razor knife or box cutter robbed the Dunkin Donuts in the 600 block of Welsh Road Jan. 30 at 8:25 p.m., Lower Moreland police said in a release.

The man, believed to be between the ages 25 and 30, first entered the store looking for a bathroom, police said. He then bought a coffee and returned to the bathroom area of the store.

When the employee went to put the money for the coffee into the cash register the man, who he believed to have been by the bathroom, came behind the counter and, showing the knife, told the employee to give him the money or he would get hurt, police said.

Approximately $350 was taken from the register, police added.

After taking the money, the release said the male calmly walked from the store and was last seen walking south at Huntingdon Pike.

The man is described as a white male with a thin build and dark hair, police said, adding that there were pock marks on his face and stubble on his chin.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a black and green checkered long-sleeve shirt and a black wool hat. He did not have gloves or a mask.
