Hatboro Police Capture Criminal in the Act

Late last week Hatboro police stopped the burglary of a house and caught the suspect as he was about to make off with the loot.

Andrew J. Dooley, 22, of Hatboro, was caught as he attempted to escape out the door of the home he just ransacked when police caught him. In his possession police found jewelry which he is believed to have stolen from the house.

The robbery which happened last Friday shortly before noon was interrupted when the resident of the home which is in the 200 block of Pine Tree Lane came home.

Police were two blocks away handling a unrelated incident, arrived to the scene quickly and took Dooley into custody.

Dooley entered the home through and unlocked door, said police.

The suspect was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Hatboro police.

Dooley was arraigned and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, his bail was set at $50,000.

Police are also investigating if their is a connection between Dooley and other local burglaries that are unsolved.
