Warminster Police Seeking Suspect in Stabbing

UPDATE 1/28/11: Man Sought in Warminster Stabbing Arrested at Jersey Shore

1/26/11 6:40 a.m.: Gilroy knocked on the front door of a home located at Hart Street and Van Horn Drive in Warminster and when a young mother went to open the door he burst into the home last night shortly after 7 p.m., said a family member.

The young mother who opened the door was Gilroy’s ex-girlfriend, she was released from the hospital late last night said the family member. Her injuries were sustained from Gilroy’s knife but were not serious.

Details are scarce but the family member also said before Gilroy fled the scene last night he sliced his neck, suffering substantial blood loss.

10:10 p.m.: Tuesday night police in Bucks and Montgomery counties were searching for 21-year-old Justin Gilroy, who police say allegedly stabbed two women at a home located at Hart Street and Van Horn Drive in the Warminster Heights section of Warminster.

Police say the incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday evening after an alleged domestic dispute, said Warminster police Chief Michael Murphy.

There was no report of the condition of the two women injured in the incident.

Gilroy was pushed out of the house and suffered injuries and ran away, said Murphy.

At around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Warminster police armed with rifles were searching the Warminster Heights neighborhood, police said.

Earlier in the evening a police helicopter from Philadelphia was brought in to search for Gilroy.

A police K-9 unit tracked the suspect’s scent to the area of County Line and Davisville roads, police said.

According to police, Gilroy is believed to have suffered serious injuries and suffered substantial blood loss.

According to police, shortly before 10 p.m., an auto theft call came into police in Upper Moreland.

Warminster police believe the theft could be related to the Warminster incident.

Police said the theft occurred at the Body Dynamic’s Fitness Center on County Line Road near New Road.

Police from Upper Moreland and Upper Southampton were on-scene getting a description of the car and suspect.

1/25/11 8:46 p.m.: Warminster Police and detectives are searching for a  male in the area with a white sweat shirt splattered with blood.

Currently the BuxMontNews team has no other additional details on the person of interest.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are on location at Van Horn and Heart in Warminster Heights gathering evidence.

The Philadelphia Police Department are helping local investigators by searching the area with spotlights from a chopper.
