Council Rock School District Delays Important Vote

Council Rock is delaying its vote for two weeks on whether to send Richboro Middle School graduating eighth-graders to one high school, a recent posting on the district’s website said.

While current eighth-graders at Richboro Middle School get to choose one of two high schools to attend for secondary education, that might not be the case in the future.

The school board was slated to vote Thursday on redistricting all future Richboro Middle eighth-graders to Council Rock High School South. Instead, because several of the nine board members will miss that meeting, the vote to end the so-called “choice option” will take place Feb. 3, according to the online posting.
