January 20, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

Scanner reports from Montgomery County indicated shortly before 8 p.m. that there was a gas odor or leak near Corn Crib Lane and Milkweed Lane in the Huntingdon Valley section of Lower Moreland.

A local resident says that a strong odor similar to the one caused by natural gas was smelled around the neighborhood.

Fire crews from the Huntingdon Valley Fire Company were on-scene along with Lower Moreland Police.

Police & fire crews left a short time after it was reported and the smell dissipated the resident said.

Just a few days ago a gas leak ignited in Philadelphia causing a massive blast and resulting fire. The explosion killed one gas worker and injured a dozen people.
