U. Moreland School Board Member Resigns; Looks Back at Service

After 18 years of service, Upper Moreland school board member Emily Graupner handed in her letter of resignation earlier this month. But the 33-year resident said she isn’t done serving yet, she is just moving to the township building where she will serve on the zoning hearing board.

“When I first joined the board my children were young and I was just getting involved with the schools,” she said, adding that having young children gave her a fresh perspective of the district.

During her time on the school board Graupner said she is proud that the district developed a scope and sequence for its curriculum and that field trips, academics and the arts are more cohesive.

The veteran board member also said she worked hard to expand the curriculum to include temporary topics like economics and statistics.
