NFL Releases Dates, Times of Next Weekend’s Games

Well after 17 weeks of Sunday highs and lows, 12 teams are left with a chance and a dream to be champions of the football world.

Yesterday was a  bit  anti-climatic for some, and others like the Seattle Seahawks a wild celebration with a division clinching win over the St.Louis Rams 16-6.

A key 4th quarter interception of a Sam Bradford pass sealed the game for Seattle.

Seattle the first team in the modern era to win a division title with a below .500 record gets to host the defending champs  New Orleans Saints next Saturday at 4:30 pm  on NBC.

The Eagles in an ironic twist, take on the team responsible for Michael Vick’s re-emergence as starting quarterback, the Green Bay packers Sunday 4:30pm  on Fox. The Eagles resting most if not all of their starters almost beat the Cowboys starters with backups. Eventually the Cowboys overcame the second string Eagles to win 14-13 in a meaningless game.

In the Windy City Green Bay clinched a wild-card spot with a come from behind win in Chicago against the Bears 10-3.  With the Packers win, Tampa and the Giants were eliminated from the playoffs.

The rest of “Wild Card Weekend” fills out like this; Saturday night in prime time (8PM) , the NY Jets fly, who dismantled Buffalo yesterday 38-7,  to Indianapolis for a  rematch of last years AFC  championship game to take on the quietly streaking  Peyton Manning and Colts.

Saints vs Seahawks is at 4:30, same channel.

Sunday the Baltimore Ravens, who pounded the hapless Bengals 13-7,  and Kansas City Chiefs who sputtered the  opportunity to clinch the 3rd seed in the AFC  have a 1pm game on CBS.  Following that,  what shapes up to be an interesting rematch between the Eagles and Packers at 4:30 pm.

New England Pittsburgh Atlanta and Chicago all get byes and host divisional round games next Saturday and Sunday.
